Ristorante Machiavelli
Both Stacie and my favorite restaurant in Seattle is a little Italian bistro on Capitol Hill called Ristorante Machiavelli. We’ve been going there together since we first met. One of my apartments was only a couple blocks away, and we would stroll over there all the time, got to know all the servers and bartenders. When we moved to the Central District and then Madrona, we would continue to go there probably 3 times a month at least.
Of course, having a child has severely cut down on our going out. We’ve made it in to Machiavelli a few times since Sennet was born, but he had never come with us. We remedied that last night.
Stacie got her usual Caesar salad and roasted red pepper penne pasta. I had my normal mixed green salad with Gorgonzola cheese and white Spanish anchovies, but for my dinner I tried something new: Spinach & cheese ravioli in a light cream tomato sauce with mushrooms. It was great.
Sennet had some of Stacie’s Caesar (he’s a fan of Caesar salads), and when we asked if he wanted spaghetti or pizza he chose pizza. Since they don’t have his normal pesto, goat cheese, and artichoke heart pizza, we just got him a mini cheese pizza. He ate both his salad and most of his pizza, and mowed through quite a bit of the bread and olive oil. He also tried a garbanzo bean and a bit of the Spanish anchovy from my salad. He liked the bean, but was a bit uncertain about the anchovy.
