When we got our Elf on the Shelf last year, we had been watching The Incredibles non-stop and Sennet was only three, so Mr. Incredible Elf was an obvious name choice. This year, now that Sennet is all grown, he thinks that Mr. Incredible Elf is a stupid name. You can look at the last post if you need more info on stupid. So Sennet changed his name to Happy after watching the Elf on the Shelf cartoon. Wonder what it will be next year?

Sennet has been saying some really funny things lately and the elf shenanigans really inspire his humor and foul language… like when saw the elf as pictured below: Kevin was already at work and I was still in bed when I heard Sennet wake up- the first thing he does is looks for Happy. On this particular morning, the elf was riding one of Sennet’s dragons on the landing window and I hear Sennet say “what the hell?” He was by himself so there was no shock value- just what the hell. Clearly we need to work on our potty mouths.

When he saw the elf brushing his teeth one morning, he said to himself “look at this stupid elf brushing his face because he doesn’t have teeth” and then cracked up laughing at himself.

This morning, the elf was busy being mischievous and when Sennet saw him he was screaming at me to come take a look at the “stupid elf who is very bad and has no business being a tattle tale to Santa since he is so bad himself.” Seriously, where does he get this stuff?

One of the funniest things he has said recently wasn’t about the elf. I had just made us a breakfast of toast and fried eggs. Sennet has this thing about winning (at everything- including finishing meals first) and I won (finished my breakfast first). He asked me why I won. I said I was very hungry. He then said totally non-chalant without flinching or laughing “don’t bullshit me, I am the bullshitter.” I literally DIED and completely failed at keeping a straight face. In that moment, I knew he had some of my dad in him.
