kevin was in China so Marla and Gordon took Sennet and me up to Snoqualmie for Sennet’s ski lesson because I prefer not to drive in snow/sleet/rain. Gordon and Sennet were twins!! It was awesome.

It was super rainy this past Sunday, so Sennet and I decided to try out something new. We went over to a place called K-Center that has indoor batting cages. We started out in a cage where I stood behind a screen and pitched to Sennet and he hit the balls back. He made quite a few good hits.
Then we moved to a cage that had an automatic pitching machine. Sennet didn’t do too bad. The pitches came pretty fast – quite a bit faster than when I throw for him to hit. But he started getting it dialed in. He began fouling a few balls off, and then made a few pretty good connections. Not bad for his first time ever doing something like that.
Then we went back to the other cage and he practiced hitting off the tee. He was lighting them up!

Sennet’s team, the McGilvra Tigers, had it’s last game of the season on Halloween. It was a blustery, rainy, cloudy, windy day – but we played. And won. Again.
It was their closest victory yet: 7-6. Sennet scored 4 goals, giving him 34 goals for the season (7 games), and the Tigers ended the season at 6-1 (and one game canceled due to weather).
Sennet also had a couple of near misses in this game, and one crazy non-goal where he tried to pass with a hard kick and it sailed past everyone and rolled toward the goal, everyone thought it was going in. But the wind was from the other direction and slowed it down till it stopped ON THE LINE. The other team got there first and cleared it. Any other day it would have been a full field length goal, but the heavy wind prevented it. He was not thrilled, but kind of shrugged it off.
I handed my phone to a couple of people to film for a bit. They didn’t get great stuff, but it’s an idea of what went on…
It was a good, fun season.
