mommy got a new lens (called a lens baby) and this post is me practicing with it. It takes some getting use to because it has a sweet spot effect and is manual focus (rather than auto-focus). Today is a beautiful sunny (cold) day in Seattle and I have been waiting for a day just like this to take out the lensbaby.
These two photos are some random people at the park but I wanted to try the lensbaby on something that was actually still for a moment- which Sennet never is
Since Guatemala we have had sleep issues- meaning sennet wants to sleep with me. It is much easier to give in- especially since its so sweet and I kinda like it….
Santa brought Sennet a pilot suit- which is what Sennet asked for. There were lots of favorites this year, a basketball hoop for his bedroom, legos, puzzles, etc and the pilot suit was right up there as a huge hit. He wore it after dinner and rode the helicopter around the house screaming “I’m a pilato!” (Spanish for pilot)
We had Chinese for Christmas dinner- most likley our new tradition and Sennet wanted to use chopsticks. He is getting pretty skilled with them!
Tonight was Sennet’s first ever school performance and he did great! It was super cute and fun to watch. Sennet is in pre-school and his class did a dance and song- Kevin will post video later. The other pre-school room did a country style dance and I have included some of those pics as well because preschool one and two do many activities together so you can see all of his peers.
Mena, our neighbor and friend goes to La Escuelita as well and is in PreK. Their class did a really cool poem in both English and Spanish about how they are all unique, intelligent and can be anything if they study hard in school. They also did a traditional Puerto Rican dance and wore really cute costumes.
[youtube=http://youtu.be/xR6XIrU14pU]One of the things we love most about La Escuelita are all of the different ethnicities and these photos really show the diversity!
The teacher in the left hand corner is teacher Brooke- the lead English teacher.
This is the other preschool room. Most of these kids are about 3-5 months younger than Sennet but many of them have been in the same room for almost two years.
This is the PreK class in their Puerto Rican costume. This is the class Mena is in.
This is teacher Chavely. She is a training teacher they recently brought in to help with the pre-school rooms to make sure the dual language model was being implemented correctly.
