You might think I am talking about me- I could be talking about me but I am talking about Sennet. My son is SERIOUSLY the worlds worst model for an aspiring photographer like myself. I see pockets of light and I beg and plead for Sennet to pose for me- not happening.
Recently I read and article where several professional photographers were interviewed and the topic was (as a photographer) your child will either love to be in front of the camera and will be a perfectly willing model OR they will show interest in being behind the camera- like their parent. They basically said they won’t enjoy both and there is no in-between. They said that as a photographer, they all hated having their pictures taken and feel like it is a trait they passed on to their children either by example or by DNA. Either way, WAY before I knew I enjoyed taking photos, I hated having mine taken. Just ask anyone. I guess he gets it from me.
Sennet grabbed his defunct old film camera (doesnt even have a lens) today and asked me if I could show him how to take a picture. I grabbed an old point and shoot and he walked around taking random photos and was super proud of himself.
I think there might be something behind that theory. As much as I cringe that he doesnt enjoy having his photo taken, I will SO love it if he shows an interest in being behind the lens! That could be our thing!
Enjoy some of his first images. He kept saying “the dogs won’t stay still”- payback, Sennet. Payback!!!
