It dawned on me today that Sennet has experienced many firsts on our trip to Guatemala.
He got his first passport (at the ripe old age of three).
He took his first red eye plane ride.
First trip out of the country.
First time seeing lightning.
First time hearing thunder.
First mosquito bite.
First time riding a tuk-tuk.
First time hearing crickets.
First time riding on a boat.
First time hearning/learning the word volcano. (there are others too but this one stands out)
First time eating dinner while listening to live music.
First time actually asking me to take a picture of him (did that just really happen??).
First time seeing a dragonfly.
First time playing a pan flute.
First time trying to *hustle* and re-sell above pan flute back to us (like the Guatemalan kiddos).
First time without a trip to the park (or a bike or scooter ride) in more than a day or so since he has been walking.
First time asking me to dance with him (sweet).
First real conversation in Spanish other than at school. He was talking to the housekeeper about his shoes (zapatos) and socks (calcetines). It was pretty cool to hear him!!
First time acknowledging you are kind, you are smart, you are important- more on this later!
There are more firsts for sure but these are a few!
