The temperature has been hovering around the mid-90s the last few days. I had the water on the grass and bushes in the evening the other night. Sennet decided that looked like a good way to cool down. Before we realized it, he had stripped down to just his shoes & socks and was happily enjoying his own private water park…

Sennet offically loves Ceasar Salads. At first, we bribed him with croutons to eat the salad but he actually likes the salad now too! Yay!
After dinner the other night, Sennet pulled out his guitar while we were all sitting outside on the kitchen deck. He proceeded to make up a song on the spot – serenading us with a little light after-dinner music.
He’s done this a couple times before, strumming the strings as he sings a lot of nonsense words mixed with whatever he happens to see or be thinking about. One night his song involved the TV, the house, books, and Kramer (who had just walked into the room).
This night his main theme seemed to be lollypops. (“POP!!”) Specifically a “cake pop” that Stacie had made earlier and that he wanted to eat (bascially a cupcake rolled into a ball, stuck on a stick and dipped in chocoalate). Pretty funny. (click images to enlarge)

Let me begin by saying that I did NOT take that first picture, of the Blue Angels flying past the Space Needle. It was taken by a KOMO 4 newsman – but I love it.
This past weekend was Seafair in Seattle. A big, citywide celebration of the water. They have bands, parades, performances, hydro boat races, and the capper is the U.S. Marines Blue Angels performing Saturday and Sunday above Lake Washington. We are lucky that our house is so close to the lake, that they fly right by when they turn around.
Sennet and I watched the performance from our back kitchen deck on Saturday. He loved the speed and the noise of the planes. Then on Sunday we walked down the hill to Madrona Beach right on Lake Washington to get a little different perspective of the festivities. There were hundreds of boats of all sizes out on the water. We parked ourselves on the grass under the shade of the trees (as it was over 90° both days this weekend!) and enjoyed the show.

Last week we took the boy out to dinner at St. Clouds – the restaurant just a couple blocks from our house, near the playground & coffee shop. Sennet had mac & cheese, and then a sundae for dessert. On the walk back home he wanted to climb on the animal sculptures outside the library annex.
