Well, the election didn’t turn out how we hoped, nor how we thought it would. Depression was the mood of the house.
After we put Sennet to bed last night, he knew we were pretty devastated, Stacie had tears in her eyes. He came down about a half hour later and gave her this drawing he had done. He had looked at one of her shirts and done it in his bed.
Sweet boy.
The first thing he asked this morning was if Hillary had been elected. Sadly, I had to tell him no.

Last soccer game of 2016
Sennet had his last McGilvra Tigers soccer game this past Saturday. Once again, it rained all Friday and all Saturday morning. Unexpectedly, the rain let up a bit right when the game started, but it was still pretty sloppy. The kids loved it.
Sennet played mid field most of the first half, and goalie all of the second half. I think the final score was a tie, but no one was really keeping too much track. A good, fun season.

Halloween 2016
A couple shots from a successful Trick or Treat outing around our neighborhood. Sennet really loved the decorations at a house a couple blocks from ours. And he used the trick or treat bag he made in his after-school sewing workshop. The second to last shot is after we got home and he got (mostly) cleaned up and make up removed.

Monster Mash 2016
Had a good time at the John Stanford Monster Mash on Saturday night. We hardly saw Sennet, as he was running around with his buddies, playing games, going through the haunted house, and crafting trick or treat bags. In a few of the brief times I was able to grab him I snapped a couple pictures…

And then on Sunday, Sennet finally got his front tooth out of his head. This was the tooth he had been working on since we were at Grandma’s during the summer! He finally got it loose enough that it almost just fell out in his hand. He’s excited because he said now he looks even more like a zombie for Halloween.

McGilvra Tigers Soccer – 2016
Finally got some video of Sennet playing soccer with his team, the McGilvra Tigers. Today was their second to last game of the season. It’s been an up and down season. The level of skill at this age is all over the place, some teams make the Tigers look like they’ve never played soccer before, and some make them look unstoppable. Today they were unstoppable. I think the score was 10 or 11 to 1. Sennet scored 6 goals and had some really good passes and defended well.
Here’s video recap of his game: (I missed getting his first goal because he scored barely 30 seconds into the game). Also in the vid is a pretty nice pass Sennet had to his friend Leo (#7) who took just a second too long to set up his shot or he would have had a great goal and Sennet a nice assist. But Leo got it back right away, shot and it was blocked and then followed it up with a great goal.
