Emerald City Bike Ride
This Sunday Sennet and I participated in the Emerald City Bike Ride. A recreational out-and-back ride across the new State Route 520 Floating Bridge, connecting Seattle to Kirkland across Lake Washington. The bridge made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest floating bridge in the world.
We started at Husky Stadium on the University of Washington campus, and with over 6,000 riders, it was pretty chaotic at the start line. We all had to walk our bikes for a few blocks until it opened up enough to pedal. Fun times!
All told it was about a 10 mile ride for us.
Some lady had her little dog in her bike basket… and she just so happened to be riding a Diamondback bike that I designed, the Vital 2!
