fear is real
Until today, I considered Sennet fearless. I have never seen him hesitate or show any fear whatsoever- sure he has had a few bad dreams but those weren’t real.
Today we took Sennet to his first 3D movie and it was about one of his favorite things- airplanes. The short movie was about an annual airplane race and air show held in Reno Nevada. One category of the race is old war planes from WW2 that have been restored and re-imagined and turned into racing machines. The opening scene of the movie was actual footage from the war of a real air battle both from inside a cockpit and aerial views. Because it was 3d, at times it felt like the bullets from the jets were coming right at us and the the pilot appeared to be jumping into our laps as well.
Sennet was scared. I mean really visibly scared. He jumped into my lap and his heart was pounding out of his chest. Before we went to the movie we explained that things would feel very close and it was just a movie- but that didn’t matter once he was scared. He did calm down once the war footage was over but he was still nervous when the planes were flying right towards him in the race scenes.
Well, now we know that 3D is a bit too much for now. I’m not a fan of 3D anyway- I get the fascination, so it is fine with me. I still feel nauseous hours later.
