Little League Day at the Ballpark
For Sennet’s T-Ball season, they offer a special package for Mariners’ games at Safeco Field for the teams. $12 per ticket and the kids get to walk around the warning track down on the field before the game. Sennet and a lot of his teammates signed up for the game against the Cleveland Indians on Sunday, May 31. We took the light rail from Beacon Hill down to the stadium district and walked over to the ballpark.
Before the game we did the parade around the field and then made our way up to our seats. Several of his teammates were already there.
I wasn’t sure how “into” the game he would be, but he really seemed to enjoy it and paid a lot of attention to the game, and wanted to stay all the way to the end. He had a huge pretzel, a hotdog, cotton candy, and chocolate dipped strawberries on a stick.
His teammates began trickling out around the 6th or 7th innings, but he wanted to stay. Once Kate, the last remaining teammate left mid-way through the 9th inning he was ready to go. The M’s had been ahead most of the game, but the Indians had tied it up late. After we left it went into extra innings and the Mariners ended up losing 6-3 in 12 innings. But it was a good day.
[wpvideo IdAp6wiT] We have one more game remaining in our T-Ball season. It’s been fun, but I think we’ll both be ready for it to be over and move on to soccer. Here’s the team picture:
Left to Right, back row: Bradley, William, Kt, Sennet, Ewan.
Front row: Kate, Sigrid, Kyle, Theo, Zephyr, Jac. (Missing are Keane and Henry).
