A trip to the zoo and dinosaur exhibit

Summer has finally arrived in Seattle and we took a trip to the zoo. Kari and Ziya met us and it was really fun watching ZZ and Sennet run around like crazy boys. They both fed off of each other and pushed the limits- but I guess that is all part of it! Both boys took really long naps and Kevin and I met Ryan and Kari (with the kiddos) a bit later in the day at the Ballard Seafood Fest. It was fun hanging out with our friends but we were all pretty underwhelmed by the Seafood Fest.

Sennet’s 2nd Birthday

Sennet turned two June 22nd. His grammy flew in on his birthday. We celebrated his birthday at our house on June 26th with old friends and some new friends (with kids). Click on the second photo for a link to the entire slideshow from the birthday party.

July 4th

July 4, 2011

We just hung around the house for July 4th but had Anneka/Paul and Allison/Michael over for dinner Saturday (3rd) and skyped with Marla and Gordon at the end of the evening. It was fun and it was nice to feel like M&G were here too.

Sennet and the dogs slept through all the noise- thankfully.

It was a beautiful day so we took a walk around Seward Park and played in Lake Washington.

Two Year Stats

June 29, 2011

We took Sennet for his two year check up and he is thriving and healthy. Our doctor suggested we take him for a speech therapy evaluation. Neither Kevin or I are “worried” about his talking (or lack thereof) but we also don’t want to have our heads “stuck in the sand” so we are going to have the evaluation and go from there. We have that eval scheduled for 7/22- so we will keep you posted. To date, Sennet is saying about 30 words (between Spanish and English) but he also has about 200 signs he does spontaneously and another 70++ he has done at least once or will repeat after I sign it. Neither of us are worried about him acquiring language because Kevin was a later “bloomer” too!

Sennet’s first visit to the dentist

June 22, 2011

Sennet saw Dr. Sarah at a newer clinic in NE Seattle. It is a state of the art clinic that combines Seattle Children’s Hospital and UW Dentistry. Everyone made Sennet feel really comfortable and he was great. We just got our bill for $208 and I can see why some families don’t make it to the dentist every 6 months. Thankfully, we have dental insurance and our portion was $8 plus the $30 copay! I hope he will forgive us for taking him on his actual birthday!
