We’re hosting a brunch with a few of Sennet’s schoolmates and their parents in a few weeks so we have been trying out a few recipes. It was my first time attempting cinnamon rolls and they were a bust. The dough never rose. I had no idea that it took such special skill to activate yeast. At any rate, Sennet lost interest after the dough didn’t expand. I tried a few tips to correct it and none of those worked either. I decided to go ahead and make the rolls even though I was pretty sure they would be dense hockey pucks rather than fluffy, ooey, gooey goodness. That turned out to be true but they actually tasted pretty good. We’ll try again.
This is our attempt to make homemade biscuits (again). I’ll cut to the chase- they were hockey pucks and nothing you could serve to a group of people. I dont have the biscuit making gift that I am convinced you have to be born with…but its fun trying it out with the kid.
